These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the IceStats website at icestats.app and the related SMS and email alert service ("the Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
IceStats is a free service that delivers live youth hockey game alerts — game-start notifications, goal events, period changes, final scores, and weekly digest emails — for teams and divisions tracked by GameSheet (gamesheetstats.com). The Service is offered "as is" during the 2025–26 pilot season and may change, expand, or be discontinued in future seasons.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide when you create your account — in particular, the email address and phone number you give us. To prevent abuse and protect third parties, we verify both your email address (via a confirmation link) and your phone number (via a one-time numeric code) at signup; alerts will not be sent to unverified contact methods. You may not register an account using a phone number or email address that does not belong to you or that you do not have explicit permission to use. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential. If you lose access to your phone number or email, contact support@icestats.app so we can update your account or remove it from active alert lists.
You may not use the Service to harass anyone, scrape or redistribute IceStats data without permission, attempt to access another user's account, abuse the website's APIs, or use the Service to send unsolicited messages to third parties. You may not register an account using a phone number that does not belong to you or that you do not have permission to use.
All game information delivered by IceStats — scores, goal events, player names, period times, and final results — is sourced from GameSheet, which is operated by an unrelated third party and depends on real-time entry by volunteer scorekeepers at each game. IceStats does not control or verify this data and makes no warranty as to its accuracy, completeness, or timeliness. Do not rely on IceStats alerts for any decision where exact accuracy matters (e.g., gambling, tournament tiebreaker disputes, official statistics).
By opting in to SMS alerts, you consent to receive recurring text messages from IceStats about hockey game updates for the teams and divisions you follow. Message frequency varies based on your follow selections — a typical hockey weekend might generate 2–6 messages per game day for a single followed team. IceStats does not charge for SMS, but standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply. Reply STOP to any IceStats text to unsubscribe immediately. Reply HELP for help, or START to resubscribe.
You may delete your account at any time by emailing support@icestats.app. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms (in particular Section 3, Acceptable use), if your account has been inactive for more than 18 months, or if the Service is discontinued. We will give you at least 30 days notice before discontinuing the Service for all users.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, IceStats and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including missed alerts, inaccurate game data, downtime, or message delivery failures. Our total liability to you, in any case, will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100).
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify all active account holders by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect; continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts.
